The stage was transformed into a landing strip, with a top model in a flight suit guiding the Egoista's arrival with ground crew light paddles, and the roar of the V10 engine shaking the 20-meter-tall tensioned event structure: this is the spectacle the VIP guests were treated to when Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann entered at the wheel of the Egoista, before inviting its creator, Walter De Silva, to join him on stage.

De Silva's team chose to create a single-seater, pushing all the characteristics in Lamborghini's make-up meaning pure driving pleasure, performance and style beyond their limits.
The vehicle is crafted from aluminum and carbon fiber, and powered by a centrally mounted 600-hp, 5.2-liter V-10—the same engine that motivates Lamborghini’s Gallardo and the Audi R8.
Endowed with more lines, angles, and edges than a fractal design poster hung in a college dorm, the Egoista displays a Formula 1–like nose despite the brand’s lack of recent involvement in the series; an orange-hued canopy worthy of placement in the most ludicrous of Hot Wheels offerings (Lamborghini prefers to invoke the appearance of an Apache helicopter); and a raised posterior with active flaps, positioned above a pair of comically large, rectangular exhaust outlets.

To exit the cockpit, the driver must remove the steering wheel, open the cockpit dome, and turn 90 degrees, stand up, sit on a designated point on the bodywork, and exit the vehicle.
The center-mounted driving position also shows influences from the racing world, with a removable steering wheel, heads-up display and four-point seatbelts.
