Jaguar XF-R

  • 2009
  • 237 HP 3.0L
  • 148 mph
In urban traffic, it’s sedate, comfortable, and quiet—Jaguar has essentially eliminated the Eaton supercharger’s whine, which was a little too audible in the S-type R. There’s more than enough punch for traffic sorting, plus this cat has excellent audio and, as noted, ride quality that’s wonderfully benign for a sedan with such a playful spirit.

Similarly, the brakes haul the XF down from speed with the same cool confidence and easy modulation of our supercharged long-termer, while the ride remains quiet and comfortable.
